David Walker - Psychologist and Specialist Behavioural Support Advisor
David is a Psychologist with additional post-graduate training in child behaviour and Clinical Psychology. He has extensive experience in working with children and young people with a wide range of behavioural and developmental difficulties, including those with Severe Attachment Disorders, ADHD and ADD. He is a Director of Studio III Clinical Services, a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, the British Institute of Learning Disabilities and the British Psychological Society. He also lectures at the University of Bristol. Most of David's work with Marlowe Child & Family Services is based at St. David's ASC.
Janet Hardman - Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Janet obtained her M.Sc, in Clinical Psychology from the University of Birmingham in 1992. Her professional areas of interest include working with people with Personality Disorders, Offending Behaviour and talking therapies for people with Learning Disabilities. Her areas of expertise include deliberate self-harm, the effects if sexual abuse, Quality and Audit of Services and Clinical Risk Assessments. She has published paper on Autism and Challenging Behaviour. Janet is Clinical Co-ordinator for Studio III Clinical Services.
Bethan Roberts - Behaviour Management AdvisorBethan is a graduate from the University of Wales, Swansea. She works under the direction of Clinical Psychologists at Studio III Clinical Services, specialising in life story work, anger management, relaxation and behaviour management strategies. She also designs Behaviour Observation Formats Charters and Questionnaires. Bethan has worked with children and young people at Marlowe Child & Family Services on reactive plans, risk assessments and proactive strategies.
Franeen McDonald - Play TherapistFraneen graduated from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 1986. She has subsequently completed comprehensive further professional training in Play Therapy, as well as other associated training. She has worked both in South Africa and the UK as both a Social Worker and Play Therapist, and has extensive experience in working with disturbed and disturbing children individually and in groups. She has also worked with families. Franeen is employed by Marlowe Child & Family Services as a Play Therapist. Her works consist of primarily individual therapy with children and young people.
Peter Kelly - Consultant PsychotherapistPeter initially began his career with children as a Special Needs Teacher, working with children and young people with extreme social, emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties. He trained as a Psychotherapist in the early 1990's and has subsequently worked across the UK and abroad, providing group and individual, short and long term therapy. His special interests include Neuro-Science and Attachment Development. He provides therapy and consultancy to Marlowe Child & Family Services, as well as training in Attachment Theory and Child Development. He undertakes assessment and devises Behavioural Management Programmes. He has also advised the Marlowe Child & Family Services Board of Directors on organisational issues. Peter is registered as a Psychotherapist with the UKCP and UKATC.
Dr. Sam Chromy - Psychologist/CounsellorSam obtained her B.Sc. in psychology from the University of Surrey in 1991 before embarking to the USA where she completed both her Masters and Ph.D. She has worked as a Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor and undertaken research, finally ending up as Assistant Professor of Counselling at Barry University, Florida. She returned to the UK in 2004 and currently combines clinical work with a teaching post at the University of Bristol. Her publications include a series on ‘Exercises in the Art of Helping’ (pub. Prentice-Hall) and academic works on Sexually Abused Children. She is particularly interested in ‘Narrative Therapy’, particularly with abused and traumatised children. She is a member of the BPS and UKCP.
Trine Firmin - Associate PsychologistTrine is an Associate Psychologist with a background in both counseling and research. She is particularly interested in developing behaviour management tools and plans for children and young people who present with challenging behaviour. She also has an interest in autism. She has a psychology degree from the University of Wales, as well as a diploma in Autism. She also has post graduate qualifications in advanced therapeutic counseling, research methods and positive behaviour management. She is a graduate member of the BPS.
