Quality Monitoring

Marlowe Child & Family Services are committed to ensuring the highest quality in the delivery of their services. To achieve this there is a regular process of evaluation and review, internally and externally.

All residential homes are inspected by OFSTED in Gloucestershire or CSSIW in Wales. Inspection reports are carefully reviewed by managers and staff, and requirements and recommendations implemented. The process of external inspection is supported by a rigorous independent monthly review as detailed in Regulation 33 of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2001. These reports, along with any Regulation 34 reviews , are sent monthly to representatives of Placing Agencies.

A further bi-annual review of standards is undertaken. This involves a detailed questionnaire forwarded to representatives of Placing Agencies. All responses are carefully analysed, recommendations made and implemented to improve the service.

A ‘Quality of Life’ questionnaire has also been designed in order for us to receive invaluable feedback from our children and young people. This allows us not only to regularly analyse their experience of our services, but also utilise the information to assess outcomes.

Our staff also provide us with feedback. The success of our service is dependant on their skills and motivation. It is essential they are listened to.

Our schools also have internal and external review systems. They are inspected by OFSTED in England and ESTYN in Wales.

As an organisation we welcome feedback, including complaints. Children and young people are encouraged to make their voices heard, without fear of recrimination. Families and representatives of Placing Agencies are similarly encouraged to comment, and complain if necessary.

Copies of Inspection Reports, Regulation 33 reports and other feedback received are available on request to Agencies considering placing a child or young person.
