Janet Hardman M.Sc. (Clin. Psychol.), B.Sc. (Hons)
Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Janet Hardman obtained her M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Birmingham in 1992. Her professional areas of interested include working with people with personality problems, offending behaviour (including sexually harmful behaviours), and behavioural and talking therapies for people with learning disabilities. She has published an academic paper in Autism and Challenging Behaviour. She was previously Clinical Coordinator for Studio III Clinical Services. She consults to a number of organisations including Vinney Green Secure Unit, Bristol. Janet Harman is responsible for undertaking clinical supervision of Climb Clinical Services psychologists, and well as undertaking specific assessment work (including court work).
Peter Kelly B.Ed. (Hons) Dip. Psychotherapy
Consultant Psychotherapist
Peter initially began his career with children as a Special Needs Teacher, working with children and young people with extreme social, emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties. He trained as a Psychotherapist in the early 1990's and has subsequently worked across the UK and abroad, providing group and individual, short and long term therapy. His special interests include Neuro-Science and Attachment Development. He provides therapy and consultancy to Marlowe Child & Family Services, as well as training in Attachment Theory and Child Development. He undertakes team supervision and provides expert guidance to care teams and others. He has also advised the Marlowe Child & Family Services Board of Directors on organisational issues. Peter is registered as a Psychotherapist with the UKCP and UKATC.
Dr. Sam Cromy
Psychologist/Counsellor
Sam obtained her B.Sc. in psychology from the University of Surrey in 1991 before embarking to the USA where she completed both her Masters and Ph.D. She has worked as a Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor and undertaken research, finally ending up as Assistant Professor of Counselling at Barry University, Florida. She returned to the UK in 2004 and currently combines clinical work with a teaching post at the University of Bristol. Her publications include a series on ‘Exercises in the Art of Helping’ (pub. Prentice-Hall) and academic works on Sexually Abused Children. She is particularly interested in ‘Narrative Therapy’, particularly with abused and traumatised children. She is a member of the BPS and UKCP.
Fiona Tait M.Sc. (Forensic Psychol.), B.Sc. (Hons)
Assistant Psychologist
Fiona Tait obtained a BSc. (Hons) in Psychology and Cognitive Neuro-Science from Nottingham University in 2006. She then took up a post as a social care worker in Fife, Scotland’s forensic service, helping to resettle mentally ill offenders. In 2008 she completed her M.Sc. in Forensic Psychology (with distinction) at the University of Kent. From 2008 she worked as an Assistant Psychologist at Oakhill Secure Training Centre in Milton Keynes, working with young offenders. She joined Climb Clinical Services late 2010, and is based at Marlowe Child & Family Services in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.
Christine May M.Sc. B.Sc.
Assistant Psychologist
Christine May obtained a B.Sc. in Psychology in 2006, and a M.Sc. in Abnormal and Clinical Psychology (with Merit) in 2007 both from the University of Wales, Swansea. Subsequent to graduation she worked as a recovery practitioner for people with Serious Mental Health Problems. From 2009 she worked as a Psychology Assistant with clients with traumatic brain injury. She has also received training in CBT and working with personality disorders. She joined Climb Clinical Services, in 2010 working at Marlowe (St David’s) at homes based in Pembrokeshire.
