Leaving Care Packages

Dalier sylw, nid yw'r tudalenau i gyd ar gael yn Gymraeg.

Marlowe Child & Family Services can provide a range of individually ‘tailor-made’ packages of care and support to young people, 16+ who are preparing to leave care and live independently historically this service has been provided exclusively to young people leaving one of our own residential facilities and settings locally in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire or Pembrokeshire.

As this service has developed we now have the resources to offer similar packages to young people in the care of other agencies.

Each young person can be found suitable accommodation, most often a privately rented flat. Marlowe Child & Family Services can provide guarantees and financial support, (when benefits and other allowances do not cover rent). Similarly we can help furnish and equip the property.

Most significantly staff support, advice and guidance is provided; the amount based upon an agreed plan. The young person and Marlowe staff work together on agreed objectives. Usually this includes support to improve life and self-help skills such as cooking, budgeting etc). It also includes help in funding and maintaining work and/or a further education placement. We also help the young person develop a positive and active social life and a network of friends.

Specific work to address offending, and/or on-going therapeutic intervention can also be provided.

Packages of out-reach support are usually goal focused and time-linked. Fees for this type of service are available on application.
