Crisis Placements
To provide Placing Agencies with a high quality, respite and same-day placement option Marlowe Child & Family Services have developed a provider arrangement with Impact Youth Services.
Impact Youth Services are based near to St David's ASC in Pembrokeshire, and provide single occupancy placements for 14 - 90 days duration. Children and young people can be found a suitable, safe placement when in crisis; including straight from court, or as a consequence of placement breakdown. There are 1:1 and 2:1 staffing options dependant on the needs of the young person. Placements are available for boys and girls, 8 - 18 years of age. Most young people have complex, high support needs. Impact Youth Services will also consider young people with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders.
Impact Youth Services and Marlowe Child & Family Services share the same commitment to meeting individual needs, providing genuinely therapeutic care and ensuring the highest quality in education, the home environment and in staffing. There is joint management overview, staff training and therapy provision help ensure these shared values are realised in practise and delivery of care.
Where appropriate, Impact Youth Services can provide the initial assessment and re-settling period prior to careful integration into longer-term residential setting at St David's ASC or in a Marlowe Child & Family Services placement in Gloucestershire. The two organisations work closely together to ensure the child or young person experiences continuity and maximum stability.
Full Psychological, Behavioural and Educational assessments are offered. Impact Youth Services' own Registered educational provision is available, as is integration into St David's Education Unit.
Each child or young person is also reviewed, at least monthly through Impact Youth Services Independent Placement Review Process. Future placement options, whether foster care, residential care or a return home are integrated into the Placement Plan and worked towards from the moment the Child or Young Person is placed.
